More than a third of CISOs (Chief Information Security Officer) have also mentioned the lack of predictability, lack of visibility, lack of control over snapshots and backups, while more than a quarter perceive the lack of granular access over virtual machines and VMs pools as an obstacle during the process. The survey, conducted in May 2017 by Censuswide for Bitdefender, included 1,051 IT security purchase professionals from large enterprises with 1,000+ PCs and data centers, based in the US, the UK, France, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, and Germany. Why conventional endpoint security just don't work for the modern Data Centre? (read the infographic)Conventional endpoint security solutions is originally designed for hardware-defined, premise-based infrastructure, which are unsuitable for the modern data center. As a result, 58.4% of IT execs say that the lack of infrastructure-agnostic security is the main challenge in the data center transformation process.
Bitdefender security specialists strongly advise CISOs to use a security solution specifically designed for the infrastructure it will run on (physical or virtual), instead of a single tool. Conventional endpoint security solutions - originally designed for hardware-defined, premise-based infrastructure - are unsuitable for the modern datacenter as they are inefficient to maintain and deploy, hardware-intensive and often ineffective against advanced targeted attacks. The vast majority of IT execs say data center modernization will have a favorable influence on their company, bringing both business agility and lowering IT operating expenses. 39.2% of CISO say data center transformation will have a major positive impact, 44.4% expect moderate positive impact, 12% say a minor positive impact could take place. Only 1.2% fear negative consequences, 2.8% forecast no impact on their business. Comments are closed.
